Rotterdam Electronic Music Festival: Mission Accomplished The pilot edition of the Rotterdam Electronic Music Festival has finished and it's time for a short lookback. Despite of the usual "bugs" a new initiative like this has to deal with, the festival has fully lived up to the expectation. Looking at the objectives which were set on forehand, we can truly say the REMF Pilot edition has been a succes as well as a very good trial. Judging from the reactions by national and international media, artists and offcourse the audience, the festival has managed to proof it's big potential. The REMF has given the Rotterdam nightlive the impulse it desperately needed. Visions from past times when the Rotterdam clubscene was at it's peak, were seen at the various clubs, and the musical program has made the city's electronic music scene realise sky's the limit when they decide to combine forces. With the on going combined efforts from the organisation as well as the clubs and the city of Rotterdam, there is much trust layed in the future growth of the festival. Still the REMF has not yet shown it's full capacity, noticed by the fact some of the program features were not sold out. This means there are still a lot of daunting challenges facing the future editions of the festival.
Mediapartner DJBroadcast has made a special microsite which is dedicated to the festival. With a team of journalists and photographers, the dance platform has been working overtime to provide the visitors and those who stayed home an image of three hectical days in Rotterdam by means of reviews, interviews and visual imagery. We would very much like to use this opportunity to thank all of our partners and volunteers
whom without the realisation of the festival would not have been possible. Thank you very much, and hopefully we will see each other again at the next REMF edition in november/december 2007!
